Hi all,
Last but by no means least, the final unit in the German Division is done with the completion of the Baden foot artillery.

This unit finishes a project started back in May and will allow me to display the division as a whole later in the week. If you would like to know more about the Baden artillery or other units in the division, then just follow the link to JJ's.

Thanks for your comments guys. I aim to get a few pictures up this week of the division as a whole and then it's on to other stuff.

More Napoleonics I hope?

as usual very nice painting – the guns seem to be very small did the Badener have only 3 pdr guns in Spain?

Major Bloodnok28 Oct 2014 4:45 a.m. PST

It seems they were issued 4pdrs at the Spanish frontier.

von Winterfeldt28 Oct 2014 5:41 a.m. PST

still even for 4 pdrs those guns look very small – the wheels ending at the waist of the gunners

Good spot on the guns (Blue Moon) next to scale creep AB Wurttemberg gunners. They are French 4lbrs. Still they are only noticeable when pictured alone like this, once on the table amid the smoke of mass battle the eye doesn't have time to spot such trifles.

After the German Division parade shots it will be on to the 1st KGL Hussars and then a few more redcoats.

Even with scale creep of the figures the gun is much too small – especially the wheels

I used the Blue Moon 4per to create a Piedmontese quick-fire gun recently and the size was just right for that small artillery piece. I thought the guns looked great but they seemed quite a bit smaller than they should be.
