I f you have followed my rampant indecision, you will know that I have been bouncing back and forth between armies. I have finally decided on one, and make an order. I want a sons of horus heresy era army, in a sea green color. Now I want abbadon In my army, because a SoH 1st company would be awesome, but unless Horus teleported onto Horus's flagship, asked horus if he could borrow his talon, and then wore it into combat, I don't think he would have the "talon of Horus" so, my question is- how would I convert abbadon to look heresy era, and how would I convert marines and terminators to look the same part?

Well, Googling "Pre-Heresy Abbadon" in images there are a couple of conversions that would work, and it at least gets the juices flowing as far as how you might tackle it…

Maybe a FW Cataphractii Pattern armor (since that was the earliest incarnation of the armor), maybe green stuff some leg and waist extensions so he stands taller, arm him with a large Power Sword and whatever "shooty" for the other arm (since he won't have the Talon.)

Going Pre-Heresy, well, if you can afford it and are into the models LONG TERM, Forge World would be the way to go, they have all the various Pre-Heresy and Heresy-Era armor patterns and weapons of that time in 40k canon.

For Abbadon, you could pick up Horus from Forgeworld, and proxy for Abbadon in standard games.

Damon.

Here is FW's incarnation of Heresy-era Abbadon – regular SM power armor. Not that you should shell out for THIS model, but it gives you an idea.

I think I'll repose him, put him on a elevated base stamding on some imperial fist or white scar, remove some of the chaos icons/THE FREAKING ARROWS EVERYWHERE, remove the bolter attached to the talon, sand down his sword, and voila, a heresy era abbadon the despoiler! Much easier said than done though. For the troops, I am going to use maxmini parts to make them suitable heretic, and done!

That FW Abbsdon is already in Cataphracti Terminator plate as the Captain of the Justaerin. All you need to do is put a magnet at the powerfist joint and replace with a suitable lightning claw to switch between pre and post Heresy.

Ah, because of the abundance of "eye's" I had switched who was whom in the FW sculpt.

I agree with Wachaza he is already in Cataphractii Terminator armor so you could just use him with a different arm from one of the arm sets Forge World offers. Should be fairly simple and with the use of magnets you can go pre and post heresy with one model.

I think I will order some maxmini shoulder pads, get abbadon, and a normal pack of chaos terminators, stick his head on some termie, convert the face-Sheild, and stick the maxmini pads on his, of course filing down some of the chaos icons. But, which shoulder pads should I get, the second from the bottom right, without the leather strips, or the one to its left, with the talbards? For the aesthetic of cataphractii terminators, the talbards one would be correct, but the talbards seem too static!
