Somebody on the Warlord Games forum or possibly Lead Adventure? a while back had a nice unit of Carthaginians painted up using our Victrix armoured Hoplites. I think they just used Carthaginian shield transfers and used more Phrygian and Thracian style helmets. Regards, Steve. |

Hoplite types would be ideal for Poeni citizen infantry for 1st Punic War (presumably in Sicily), although, as Steve from LBMS says they favoured Phrygian and Thracian style helmets. |

Also, Victrix Greeks with Phrygian or Thracian helmets, alongside working as citizen infantry (as Steve wisely said), would work seamlessly as mercenaries, and so would fit perfect for the 1st Punic War and aftermath (the Truceless War: link A perfect excuse to round such army with peltasts as light infantry, or even Gallic and Spanish mercenaries… ;-) |
