I'm taking a family trip to Copenhagen soon and would like to visit some military history things.

Any suggestions?

:O)

Thanks

Jim

Hi Boggler
I would have suggested the Resistance Museum, but it is closed due to a fire in April 2013, and the new one is not opening until 2018.
However there are these Museums.

The National Army Museum is there in the Toejhus (Old Armory). I know it's on my list if I ever get there. Here's a link.

There's the Palace somewhere in town with 'chocolate box' soldiers on guard outside.

I'd tell you more but it's more than 50 years since I've been there!

This 'travelogue' of a webfriend might help.

The statue of the Little Mermaid. The feminists who periodically cut its head off are about as militant as you can get.

William Kaiser lives in malmo and works in Copenhagen, as well as having a games club there. He'll be able to suggest some things, as well as hosta game!!

He's on TMP.

I highly recommend you get a bag of Salty Fisk – slated liquorice. It is superb…but don't eat too much in one go.

Great city, hope you enjoy the trip

Definitely visit the National Army museum. Lots of artillery and the only complete sets of US infantry and cavalry uniform from just before the Civil War.

I went there about a year ago and really enjoyed it.
