Hello all, I am trying to identify the chassis/tracks used for the large crawler vehicle seen here:
link It looks to me like 4 WW2 1:16th or 1:24th tanks that have been striped down and built up on top. Can anyone shed any light on the manufacturer or pattern/type of tank used? Many thanks! |

Sorry, just realised that the image posted there doesn't allow you to zoom in at all, it can be found here: small.furryspider.com/?p=37 |

I think they're more likely toys than kits, but may even be scratch built – if you look carefully at the wheels, they're all different, which leaves me wondering. |

They look like no chassis that I'm familiar with, and the return rollers are in a strange place for a real vehicle. So my first thoughts were that they are toys too. |

I am thinking some of the older GI Joe stuff for the 3" figures. |

Looks like it is from the Walker Bulldog. Mostly based on the shocks on the hull side. I know it is made is 1/35th but could well be in larger scales as well:
From: link Looks like there are RC ones in bigger scales: Like: link The road wheels and return rollers look like they may have been dolled up some or relocated. Also known as: U.S. M41A3 |

Not to hijack the thread, but that cannon is awesome. It looks like it can shoot from GenCon and hit troops clear over at Salute. |

Thanks for the input all! DyeHard, it does indeed look similar, but of you look at the link directly under the first picture you can see the treads are significantly chunkier. They may well have been scratch built for all I know. The bottom road wheels are all the same bar one, the same one in the same position on all four of the tread sections. Is there any tank anyone knows of where this is the case? Thanks again! |

might be the old GI joe toy tank

I'm not too familiar with the bigger, new Apocalypse vehicles for Imperial Guard, but I wonder if he/they didn't use something like that for a base to scratchbuild on? The fact the road wheels are all different could just be a scratchbuilding "Orky" thing. |

I think it might have parts from this GI Joe set. The Thunderclap (the front section has tracks that look similar)
On the Dakka thread connected to the first image, it was suggested that at least part of the construction was 1 or 2 1/35 Dragon Wagons. |
