"The 10th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition to be unveiled on November 11, 2014 in Zhuhai of south China's Guangdong province may witness the debut of two new models of domestically-made fighters, said Zhou Lewei, head of the Zhuhai Conference and Exhibition Bureau. The most possible models may be two of the J-10B, J-15 or J-16, according to Zhou Lewei…"

I love the J-10's appearance. It's developed with help from Israel and is based on a '90's design which never entered production, the 'Lavi':

Are These China's Latest Military Aircraft?

"A new generation of aircraft expected to form the backbone of the Chinese air force have purportedly been captured on film and posted online by military enthusiasts.

The photos of the fourth-generation stealth fighter J20, Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&CS) aircraft KJ-500 and Y-20 large military transporter, reportedly conducting tests flights, were published on a popular military forum on Saturday.

The internet user who uploaded the images to cjdby.net identified the plane models and said "these pictures were taken recently at Yanliang Flight Centre", a military-use airport in Xian, Shaanxi province…"

AKA Typhoon Mig-29

AKA wrong and wrong.

J-10 is an IAI Lavi rip off and the J-15 and J-16 are unlicenced rip offs of Russian Su-33 and Su-30MKK jets (both Flanker derivatives).

J-10B isn't new – basic J-10A/S serve in their hundreds and this is a new variant that's had power plant issues. And from memory they haven't resolved those issues and will continue using Russians Saturn-Lyulka AL-31.

The two real new Chinese jets (stealthy J-20 and J-21/-31) are kept under wraps for the most part.

Chinese J-21/-31 – basically F-35 class but with two engines. This is the prototype and it's not yet in series production.

These are some of the first high resolution photos of these.

Poorer resolutiuon but gives decent picture of overall size and profile:

J-20 – think stealthy MiG-31 long range interceptor – again prototype only:

Whilst the idea of a pure interceptor may seem outdated, it makes sense for defence of a large country like China and it's stealthiness means it can focus on taking out non-stealthy combat enablers like tankers or AWACS.

Indeed some studies have shown that in a conventional air war. US reliance on tankers and AWACS is a potential achillies heal.

And the more fighter assets you dedicate to force protection means less fighters for other offensive duties.
