Just got back from a members reception at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. One of the new works on display is a portrait by George Romney of Lady Hamilton as Medea. That's Emma, Nelson's mistress. Nelson was described on extended text about the painting as "the British officer who fought at Trafalgar." Even my wife chuckled.

A new work on display? Did no one realise Romney died in 1802? :)

Sherman – a US officer who went to Georgia.

Hitler, some German politician.

Shakespeare – wrote a bit.

Sinatra – cranked out the odd tune.

No, the other British officers just stood there and watched Nelson fight. He was doing such a good job why interfere?
