"The Syrian military has stepped up air strikes on rebel areas dramatically, carrying out more than 200 in recent days, opposition activists say. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the raids took place mostly in western areas between midnight on Sunday and noon on Tuesday. The UK-based group said there were many casualties, but did not give a figure. The intensified strikes come as US-led forces continue to bomb Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria and Iraq…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand |

On a related note, I saw that they claim to have shot down two of the three ISIS Air Force jets, yesterday. Apparently, the third one got away, after it landed, since it was hidden by their fighters. |

So if that is a reliable source … the ISIS Air is pretty much done … Of course can we trust the Syrian reports ? |

They're hammering away at quite fast sortie rates. No restrictive RoE helps. Not bad for a force that has suffered large losses in terms of facilities lost, aircraft lost and loss of pilots in combat and due to defection. |

Counting death: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights With the Syrian civil war ongoing with no apparent end in sight, politicians and media outlets constantly reference the ever-growing death toll, which currently stands at over 150,000. But who is responsible for coming up with the grisly figure? An often-quoted source is the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, run by the 40-something Syrian-born Rami Abdulrahman – born Osama Sulieman – who runs the monitoring group from a two-bedroom house in the British industrial city of Coventry. However, later that year, aspersions were cast over the Observatory when a rival group under an almost identical web address – syriahr.org rather than Abdulrahman's syriahr.com – claimed that the latter was dishonest.Mousab Azzawi, a London-based doctor and Syrian opposition figure, issued a letter saying Abdulrahman's "primary profession was installing satellite dishes," and he had only a "very modest level of education." link |
