I am still in the "explore technology" stage of creating TMP 4.0, but I can report on a few things: Icons will be 100 x 100 (much larger) Badges (i.e., Supporting Member, Sponsoring Member) will also be 100 x 100 The new system does not appear to support crossposting. Still exploring that. The current plan is to have basic functionality up and running for the roll-out of TMP 4.0: * Hobby News * forums (at least the main one) * Manufacturers Directory * membership levels (i.e., Basic, Supporting, etc.) * advertising Then we can work on customizing the experience, bringing back other functionality, adding new functionality, and so forth. For example, it looks like we could easily allow Supporting Members to have their own blogs, based right on TMP. Would that appeal to people? And my thanks to the editors, who are doing so much of the work now, and make it possible for me to have time to work on TMP 4.0… |

Thatīs great news Bill! The blog idea is very interesting, and as for crossposting, others may disagree (and I am sure they will!), but I donīt think it is so important. |

If we didnt have so many pigeon-holed boards, there would be no need for crossposting. |

Good news and thanks for the update. Any remote guess on the ETA of TMP 4.0? |

Do people really NEED to see my icon any larger???? |
duncanh | 23 Oct 2014 9:14 a.m. PST |
That would be useful Weasel. |

I don't mind about crossposting, one way or the other, and I have my own blogs, but I think having the option for folks to do it here would be cool. It'll be interesting to see the icons… since I kinda like how the icons are now. |

+1 to Weasel, or at least some way to flag threads that we've posted to. |

Blog? Haven't needed one up to now. See no need for one now. Too much work and time to do it right. For the same reason I have no use for Facebook or Twitter. |

Any remote guess on the ETA of TMP 4.0? A really rough guess… after the post-Christmas sales? |

Another +1 for Weasel proposal |

Probable ETA sometime after the post-Christmas sales sounds great to me! Hope things stay on track. :) |

I don't think the blog thing is a good idea…. |

Do people really NEED to see my icon any larger???? It is not the size of the icon, but how you use it. Probably some sort of association with scale creep. |

It's possible that we can wrote more words in the "text presentation" of the threads? To cut the tittles is a boring and hard work. Amicalement Armand |

With all the comments on the adsense stuff and the fact you have hinted that current advertising method might not carry over. hat is the new advertising/banner ads going to be. And will the current financial price structure continue, both for memberships and for advertisers? And before it goes live, will advertisers be pre-warned so they can continue to pay for advertising or opt out of version 4, or were you just going to roll it all over? |

Same questions as above – what form will the new advertising take? |
