Just posted the third installment chronicling construction of a pair of 2'x2' river terrain boards for use at the 1879 Second Afghan War battle of Charasiab, this time showing my first (more blue) and second (more green) attempts at paint jobs for the river itself, using artists acrylics.

A few teaser pics…

Note: This morning I visited my friend's wood-shop to finish building the frame for the 6'x2' Kabul River board and just now I finished cutting the board itself down to fit inside that frame, so all that's left is to glue the foam board down to the baseboard and then it's on to the legitimately fun "terraining" part of the process for river number two! (kind of excited about that)

Looks good.

Wow!! Just amazingly well done. I think you have achieved the perfect balance between practical wargaming terrain and the real world.

Thanks very much for the kind words guys! Hoping to glue the 6'x2' foam for the Kabul River board into its frame later tonight…
