I was very happy to see your Front Rank Wurttembergers as mine are nearing completion. I have 6 battalions just waiting these last 2 weeks for officer's horses. Can't stop fiddling with them! Mine are the early figures, with boots rather than long over trousers for the rank and file. Apart from this difference, are there other differences between early and late figures from FR that you noticed? I see blue trousers in the plate at the top of your page. Is that accurate or fancy, do you think? Your Spanish are beautiful. I have 30 battalions I haven't even touched yet. How did you choose which units to paint? Normally I take ORBATs from the period battles and then follow one ORBBAT which has units that also fought in many other battles. |

Thanks for all your comments… Chortle: I have'nt notice anyother differences between the early and late apart from boots over trousers. The picture on my site is by a Russian Artist can't remember his name right now. but he is pretty accurate IMHO on all of his plates that i have been able to get hold of. The blue trousers are only on the Grenadiers which does seem like something that would have happended due to there status as grenadiers. on the russian campaign anything could have happended. I am going to paint all the regiments from 1808-1812. even a garrison regiments and a landwher regt. just for variety. Hope that answers your questions. :-) |
