Can the Chain of Command campaign 29 Let's Go be used with Bolt Action? Are there any compatibility issues? |

Since nobody has chimed in on this I will. I have no experience of Bolt Action or of the 29th supplement, but from my experience of with CoC and with the CoC generic campaign supplement (At the Sharp End) I believe that the 29th supplement should work for any platoon-level WW2 rules, and in fact would be modifiable for any WW2 rules. Company level, battalion-level, etc. From memory, the way the campaign works is that you set up a basic order of battle for both sides (usually a platoon + another in reserve) and then you fight tug of war style for an interconnected series of battlefields. If you win you advance to the next area, etc. just as the frontlines can move to or fro in real life. There are also rules for finding out if men who were 'killed' in the game were only wounded and return to the platoon, etc. There are also rules for seeing if the attitude of the men towards their commander changes and if the platoon leader's CO changes his attitude towards him, etc. This can have some effect in the game, making the leader or his men bolder or more reluctant, etc. In addition, there are a few other bits. So the rules for replacements should work with no modification. The rules for troop and CO morale towards the platoon leader might need some modification depending on how the command and control rules work in Bolt Action. I know that isn't a very satisfactory answer, but maybe that'll help somewhat! On a somewhat related note, the Platoon Forward supplement for Troops, Weapons, and Tactics is awesome for solo play and could probably work for multiplayer campaigns too. I've used it with many rules systems with no modification. So that may be of interest to you too. Have fun! Mike |

I purchased 29 Let's Go last week for use with Nuts. Like Delta says it outlines the campaign for you with 5 scenarios. Depending on your success, the front lines can move back and forth. The mechanics of this back and forth movement are explained in TFL's "At the Sharp Edge" supplement. So you may need to purchase that otherwise 29 Let's may seem like a supplement with 5 scenarios. There are lists for recommended forces for both sides. The RPG stuff is in "At the Sharp Edge" and "Platoon Forward." "Platoon Forward" also has an excellent squad/platoon level scenario generator – probably the best that's out there. Both supplements are worth it. |

Downloaded Platoon Forward after seeing this thread. Apart from some sloppy editing, it has some brilliant ideas, and is just what I've been looking for as an aid to solo gaming (Bolt Action, in my case). |

BattleCaptain, Sorry you didn't like the editing but glad you found some of the ideas brilliant. It was written to be used for any ruleset. I guess I hit the mark again. : ) Any questions let me know Thanks Joe |

Sounds interesting. Time to order and as with BattleCaptain, I'll be using it with Bolt Action. |

Off topic by a long way I know but downloaded Platoon Forward last week for use with CoC and IABSM in the future when I realised it might fit in rather well with my solo Napoleonic campaign. Some brilliant ideas in there. |

Off topic by a long way I know but downloaded Platoon Forward last week for use with CoC and IABSM in the future when I realised it might fit in rather well with my solo Napoleonic campaign. Some brilliant ideas in there. I'm also a big fan of PF and would highly recommend it as a source of generic "fictional world" ideas to make your campaigns and solo wargaming come alive. The concepts and ideas can be adapted to any period with a little creativity from the reader. Kudos and props to Joe! |

A question concerning Platoon Forward, page 16, Type B Blinds: The notes below the table refer to previous Type A Blinds. Is this intended? |
