I was looking on eBay and found this listing for some Napoleonics made by Imperial Miniatures: auction

I've never heard of them and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them? The listing says they are 15mm but they look closer to 20mm to me.

Maybe it's my eyes, but they look very much like AB's 18's to me. Hope there's nothing dodgy going on here.

These were AB figures original sold in The US by Emperors HDQ out of Chicago. They were the original distributor in the US for AB figures until Eureka picked up the US as the distributor also.

A side note these were casted by Old Glory for the Emperor's HDQ back in the day.

Just been looking at the rest of the photos and i would say some of the figures are definately AB's or copies of AB figures,it's difficult to tell with them being packaged. Is there an innocent explanation ? Am i just being paranoid ?

Stephan,
How did you ever find a blister of these in England?

Nothing dodgy then . . . . excellent !

Thanks for the replies guys. If they are ABs it explains why they look such good quality sculpts.

@VonBlucher

Hi John. I didn't find the blister in the UK. I was looking at the US eBay site (on the lookout for 2nd gen Minifigs as usual) and saw them there.

Stephan,
What's even better about these as these were from the first few runs of these produced in the states, as they lost the distributorship not long after. So casting wise they are most likely mint without any type of flash on them at all.

Hi John,

They do appear to be very nice sculpts and castings. Unfortunately they are being sold in one of those odd lots that sometimes turn up on eBay where a whole bunch of stuff has been thrown together and you don't really know what you are buying. And, anyway, I was really only after the Minifigs. ABs are lovely figures but they are a bit big for my taste. And to be honest they are also a bit too detailed. I don't think my standard of painting would do them justice.

Stephen,
It's probably someone that at one time was looking at getting into Naps and bought figures from a few different companies and than realized how many figures he would need to paint up. Those Imperial figures had to be purchased in the mid nineties, so they've been on his shelf for quite a long time.

They lost the AB franchise in the USA chiefly because they insisted on marketing them as 'Imperial Miniatures' rather than AB Figures.

Hi Reggie. Good to hear you are still as obsessed as me. But remember, all is fair in love and wargames.

By the way I am sending you an email about the French line infantry you are looking for.
