Can any of you chaps direct me to the site where I can download the scenarios for these rules. The obvious 'fleet admiral.com' doesn't appear to be working. I'm after the stats for the 1914 Battle of the Falklands ships so I can put the game on this December (the 100th anniversary). many thanks.

Try the Clash of Arms site. They now own the rights to Fleet Admiral.

Ok. Thanks for that.

Tried the C of A site. Absolutely no reference to Fleet Admiral at all. I am now offically in despair!

Last time I talked to Bill he confirmed CoA had taken up the game but didn't know when it was likey to be published.

That's a shame because FA is a good set of rules. I can get the lads to play them at the club. Might have to try Seekrieg with them instead. I hope CoA doesn't mess with them like they did with Dangerous Waters.

Would someone explain why a firm buy and publish a ruleset that would be in direct competition to their already existing ruleset (Cas, Admiralty Trilogy)? Could it be a ploy to prevent competion (buying the rights and never publishing it)?

Bill M and CoA have a long and cordial history. He did Mighty Midgets and Dawn of the Rising Sun for them. I do not know exactly why CoA took on FA, but it is possible that they wanted a simpler fast play set of naval rules in the stable – the CaS series falls on the high complexity end of the spectrum for many gamers.

Well, one thing is certain: Fleet Admiral has fallen off the map completely. And Clash is certainly taking their sweet time in reintroducing it (if, indeed, that's their plan). I was looking forward to using them for predreadnoughts.

General Quarters v3 Fleet Action Imminent is at a similar level of detail for Fleet Admirals, and has all the stats you need.
Maybe use that instead?

Played that game in Port Stanley on the anniversary in 1988 ish, with Trog, Ian Clayton and Ken Kennedy against some officers we got away with three ships as the Kriegmarine.

We used an old set created by Leeds gamers, they were very good, simple quick, realistic in the outcome based on tonnage damage.

I have a set you can copy if you wish……or can put them on a word and send them to you.
