While I'm sure whoever created THON is putting his heart into it, I just don't see why anyone would buy into this game. So he has a bunch of pre orders for his models….which don't have any pictures of the actual product. They only show the 3D render. link There is a huge difference between a 3D render and the actual model. Mind as well try to sell these models based of just their concept art! This is like basic business know hows, imo. Sorry for ranting, it just seems disappointing that this is what miniature sellers think is an acceptable quality of business dealing. |

Several Kickstarters have opened with sketches and renders as well. I'm not sure how they get funding. You want my money, show me actual products. Even rough prototypes, masters, greens, something. Xin |

I will NEVER jump into any Kickstarter that shows only renders. That's a big deal breaker for me. |

That is why I'm following the blog, but not throwing any money at it. Drop some printed masters on the table and I might be able to find $$. |

They actually had printed masters, not sure why they're not posting them. Another thing is that plenty of stuff sells based on renders. Having physical sculpts is no indicator of something actually delivering, look at Defiance games and ADW for example. I just think they have an issue of marketing and awareness. They have rules, and printed sculpts. But somehow I'm not seeing them post batreps or pictures of those models painted. That's the biggest problem. |
