"As an alternative to upgrade the U.S. Army HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) to its original capability, Textron Marine and Land Systems, in partnership with Granite Tactical Vehicles, was highlighting the Survivable Combat Tactical Vehicle (SCTV) at AUSA 2014 exhibition, in Washington, D.C..

This successor to the venerable Humvee is powered by a Cummins 6.7 liter Diesel (instead of a General Engine Products 6.5 liter Diesel for the HMMWV) with an Allison 6-speed transmission, and features a stronger suspension, improved brakes, and innovative onboard instrumentation that restore tactical mobility. Somehow, putting "Survivable" in the name isn't reassuring. It either feels like wishful thinking, or reflects that nothing else you ride in is indeed survivable.

They should let 13-year-olds name combat vehicles.

Rolling in the "KILLINATOR 4000" or "MEGADESTRUCTO VAN!!11!11!!!" would probably be better for morale.

That's actually a pretty good idea, but I was under the impression that the Army and Marines had already firmly committed to the JLTVs, aka baby MRAPs.

I didn't think it was possible to be uglier than the Humvee, but GenDyn managed to pull it off!
