Hi, Need some help finding some suitable cavalry for Eureka's man-orcs link Am willing to do minor conversion/green stuff work, it can be a historical or fantasy figure, just want something that is more in line with the Man-orcs theme than going with your standard orc wolf/warg-riders. |

Would man-orcs use horses? Or would you be better with just bigger wargs? That is an interesting question I had not thought about too much. |

Horse or wargs doesn't matter much, I just think that the riding beast would be as armored as the Man-orcs. |

How about these guys from Khurasan…
Look like demon horses. Sabre Tooth Lions… (also from Khurasan)

How about some actual 20mm warg orc cavalry?
These guys are by Alliance. And if you can wait a month or so, they'll be releasing actual uruk warg riders too, which will have the same wargs but with riders like these infantry uruks:
The Alliance fantasy range are avialable from a number of retailers, such as emodels in the uk and scale-model-kits in the ukraine. |

That's the problem with scale conventions, 18mm and 20mm sound so close, but they are miles apart. Eureka's 18mm is pretty true to the scale, but 20mm is really a misnomer because 20mm models are often an inch tall! So those guys would look like mounted trolls in a 15/18mm army. Eureka's man orcs are a straight ripoff of the lord of the rings movie uruk hai so they don't have cavalry because the Uruks didn't either. |

Scale conversion is indeed a problem – I have some 20mm figures which are really 18mm tall, while as you say, these half-orcs are 1/72 scale. I only mentioned them because many people have said the 18mm eureka elves are actually almost an inch tall, but perhaps the rest iof their lotr range is much closer to 18mm. I see no reason why half orcs can't have their own wolf riders, however; maybe even a detachment of goblins, like the ones that 'assisted' saruman. Perhaps these ones from east riding miniatures might fit the bill:

"Would man-orcs use horses?" maybe they'd use horse-orcs…… |

I believe that one of the major bad guys gathered large black horses for his troops/minions to ride. I am open to correction. |

Sorry, forgot to specify "one of Tolkien's antagonists". |

I'm leaning heavily toward the idea of man-orcs riding horse-orcs…it's just too funny not to deserve at least one conversion. And in fact, somebody has already sculpted mounts that fit the bill as horse orcs:
(It's a GZG kra'vak kr'gak riding beast) |

i like the khurasan creature better, its creepier….. "I believe that one of the major bad guys gathered large black horses for his troops/minions to ride." yes but those were men once so it makes sense that he'd have undead horses for them to ride…. |
