Work has been going on for just over two weeks now on my new games room. I sometimes think I'm mad for doing this. However there would be no point waiting a few more years to do something like this as I'm 53, and would not get much use out of a room if I wait any longer.

link I have let the builders use my Garage as a store room lunch room etc. So am having trouble getting in there to undercoat anything. I did manage to undercoat these VC just before work started.
link I also have some NNC which were undercoated in time which will be finished soon. Hopefully I can get back in the Garage to undercoat but then have the issue of having my Partner, working in the room next door which may be a bit smelly for her. I can see Drama ahead. |

Nice structure and mortars! By the way, why is the room angled like that on your property, and why is the lumber pink? |

I think that might be an anti-termite treatment. |

The house is built on a triangular shaped plot of land, the games room is being built parallel to it. The timber is pink as it has been treated for rot and I suspect borer. When I built a shelf under my old gaming table I used ground treated timber as it was green rather than that horrible pink colour. NZS 3640: 2003 Chemical preservation of round and sawn timber sets out the preservative treatment and identification of timber to provide protection from insect attack and decay. In addition to end branding framing timber for H1.2 and H3.1, a general body tint colour is used: ❚ Pink – boron, H1.2. ❚ Green or no added colour – propiconazole and tebuconazole, permethrin, H3.1. |

Thats what my Facebook mate in the UK said when I posted the photos. When we arrived in NZ my Dad (a builder) said NZ houses looked like Canvey Island on stilts. |
