I took Terrement's advice and got my tramp steamer pretty dirty link
not as bad as the Indiana Jones boat but pretty close, thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Anton,
Some wonderful games can be had on that ship. It looks really good. Is it scratch built? I'm impressed! Thank you for sharing.

It looks good. I don't think the weathering goes overboard (pun intended grin).

It6's lovely but might I suggest the gunwales fore and aft are a bit high?

Striker19 Oct 2014 7:58 a.m. PST

I like it. I have plans to build a steamer but it's behind a long list of things that I bought and paid for already.

Anton,

I will echo Striker's comment . . . and so I am quite appreciative of your excellently detailed "How to Build It" post:

(Daryl, go to above link for Anton's "scratch building" post).

Anton,

I know that you don't go in for exact measurements while building your Tramp Steamer . . . but could you please let us know what the overall length, breadth and height of the finished model are?

I stand in awe of projects like this. (Thanks for the link, Jeff!)

Thanks for the compliments!

Overall length 20", beam 3.5" height 4" (top of the cabin)
She is a bit long and narrow for a freighter, more of a caricature of a ship than a scale model.

The forward and aft gunwales are high, mostly to provide cover, this model is mostly intended as a feature in games involving a Pulp-themed port, shoot-outs with bad-guys and evil cultists ….that sort of thing.
