I just got my hands on some 28mm lazer cut MDF. I wish to know what type of primer is best to base coat the buildings before actually painting them.

Hi Doug,

I'm painting a bunch of Western buildings on commission, and I have had success with the Army Painter acrylic sprays as an undercoat. In essence, as long as you hit the MDF with a fast-draying spray, you can't go far wrong.

Apply it in 3-4 light coats, and be careful to avoid letting the paint build up too quickly.

I'd avoid enamel-based paint sprays, or anything that requires brushing on.

Hope that helps!

Sure does. Thanks :D

I used a mix of Wal-mart and Army Painter sprays and they all worked the same.

Krylon acrylic primer should be okay to use?
