You were the U.S. distributor for Minifigs,so you could probably answer this question. For Minifigs 2nd gen, if the pack said French Line Infantry/w Command, how many fusiliers would be in the pack? Assuming that the total amount of figures would be 24. Would there be 21 fusiliers? 18 fusiliers?

If anyone else knows the answer to this question, feel free to let me know.

Reggie,
From my recolections I though there was 2 command strips in these of 3 figures each. I always thought this was because of Empire and that the pack would than create 2 battalions of 12 figures.

If I'm wrong hopefully Tom Dye stops by and corrects me.

… I'm fighting the urge to hi-jack this…. but I lost.. LOL!

So Tom, if you do respond… any chance we'll ever see those AIM Ancients again?

…and now back to the original thread… :)

VonBlucher, thanks. I think you are correct. A guy is sending me some packs that say French Line Infantry/w Command. I already have plenty of grenadiers, and voltigers(they have plumes on their shakos). My ratio is 1:20(same as yours), so I am trying to build 36 figure, French battalion. Please tell me that the fusilier figures, in the packs, just have pom-poms.

For what it's worth, that's my recollection as well – 6 command and 18 fusilier.

I recall 6 command and 18 rank and file.

I;m pretty sure that with Tom in Germany Minifigs US crashed and burned some years back.

Wish it wasn't so as I'd love some more AIM Napoleonics.

Tom posted on another tread last week, he'd had problems with internet connections due to travelling.

Tom is on his way back. He and others are working on getting MiniFigs USA back in production soon.

And just to be contrary, I remember the packs came with 3 command and 4 elite figures, the rest fusiliers.

vtsaogames17 Oct 2014 6:08 p.m. PST

Oh yay, Minifigs USA back again?

Cold Steel17 Oct 2014 7:19 p.m. PST

Sorry, that should be 2 sets of 3 command.

And Tom already has been told his 1st priority is 10mm moderns, then 15mm Nappies.

Hi, Guys. The packing instructions for the second gen 15mm packs had half the pack with command the other half with the troop type the command was for. (Ie, A code like N-345 might have been East Slavobian Grenadiers adv/W command (4 sets of 3 figure command + 12 gren adv.) and N-445 would have been just 24 Gren adv.

When I took over with 3rd Gen, I did packs of 6 command (2 each of Officer,Musician and SB)and 18 "grunts. This would yield 2 battalions of 12, each could have a command stand. When ordering from the factory (GFI), we were happy to do the pack with command substituted with more grunts. Without selling figures individually (not really feasible with 15mm figs)this seemed the best way for store packaging. 24 figures are divisible by 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 figures per stand to meet most rules at the time.

Still stuck in Germany with no sign of reassignment back to the lower 48! I no longer have rights to produce Minifigs- just the molds and masters. There are some exceptions…The N scale (12mm) modern range is still mine (which includes the figures up to the French). AIM, Some really nice reaper 28mm, and a few misc pieces I still have (like the 15mm Guillotine, some 15mm SYW sculpts, rules, some buildings, etc.)

Would LOVE to bring it all back one day. Until I can get back, it all remains in storage. I saw it just a month ago when I was back home in the USA. IF I was ever to get back to it, I would re-release the second generation as well. I see many still seek them, but with the "Kickstrater" idea that is now available, the risk would at the level of acceptance for the mold making expense.

Hope this answers the orignal question and addresses some of the comments also.

Thanks, Guys!

v/r
Tom

Hope this
