I always wanted to play these games and decided to buy one. Well I uploaded it on my computer and I am TOTALLY clueless when it comes to playing it. For some reason the instruction manual won't load so I am stuck staring at a screen with unit icons and sound effects and tons of buttons that I have no ideal what to do with. I have no idea how to move a unit or anything. I have been searching online for some type of manual to at least get me started so I can do more than stare at unit icons and listen to the sound effects, but so far I have had no luck. I would appreciate any help you can give me when it comes to actually being able to do SOMETHING in this game. |

I would make sure I have the latest version. Here is their website and if you still have trouble I would contact them. hpssims.com |

Maybe check that your version has the latest patch via the HPS site. If it's anything like the 'squad battles' series, there should be pdf manuals in the game folder. There is an online manual here (took a while to load for me): LINK |

To read the manuals you will need the windows help file viewer since MS stopped including it with windows way back. link Even with that program I could not use the "help" menu option in the program, I had to use file explorer to open the files that way. A website called theblitz has a number of players for the game and a forum that should also be helpful.

Once you are done with this game you may enjoy Flashpoint Campaigns – Red Storm. The demo is free online. |

Chortle, Thanks. I bought this game just to get a feel for how to play one. If I like it and can figure it out I plan to buy more. |

The interface looks to be similar to squad battles. The manual I linked to in post #3 above should explain most things. If you go to the game's folder there should be a bunch of pdf files there which may include a 'getting started' pdf. When I first tried Squad Battles, I just used that pdf to play through the first scenario. |
