….To get the men outfitted quickly the uniforms issued to this Militia were of the 1880 pattern last worn at Fort Mackinaw. When first publicly seen, the Michigan Militia became known (rather disparagingly) as "The Mothball Militia"…..

As a long-time admirer of the Iron Brigade, I think this is a very clever idea and a great background story. I wish I had thought of something like this before painting my AQMF infantry, which was only a couple days ago! |

Man these looked great! And the backstory only made them better. I love the way the men managed to 'outfit' their unit with armor by taking it upon themselves to repair damaged tanks. "Acquisition by Determination." |
