Some pictures from our club night. I broke out the Langton's for a game of FotAW.

Before I get too many comments, the cotton balls are markers, not smoke simulators…

Cotton 'smoke' gets tangled in the rigging. Been down that road.

Yep, little cotton pompoms are the way to go for that kind of thing for exactly the reason you say: Wise man. I use them as reload markers in Piquet games.

I went so far as to make 'solid' smoke screens for WW2 gaming for the self same reasons. They make people laugh, but I don't spend any time pulling strands of cotton off bases, figures, and terrain any more

Great looking fleets!

I had no idea you guys in Wayne had so much going on.

@dBerczerk: That for me? Pro or Con has a game every Wednesday and we run two single-day cons a year in the Metro Detroit area. One in the spring, one in the fall. This year the fall con is on Nov. 15th.

If American football can have pompoms. Why can't you? Joking aside I like the ships and the markers.

beautiful looking game, I have had the opportunity of playing FOTAW a few times and have always thoroughly enjoyed the games, plus the game author is a class-act too. Reminds me I need to pull those rules out and get back to painting my fleets…

I've told Rob this, but I really didn't think I'd like a card-driven system. Being an old Wooden Ships & Iron Men guy, I was into plotting moves and heavy detail on ship control, damage, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this game. Enough to buy and run it, obviously.

Hi Jeff…love the ships! What did you use for the game board? Yes, I do love those rules. I'm going to bring my ships and rules to Fall In for a pickup game with some friends. Hope to see you there! Oh, I had to change my screen name to something similar to what I had…losing too many contacts with the first change! Leaving Waterloo Minis for you!

Hey Rob! The game board is a mat I bought from CorSec Engineering. Not cheap, but worth it.

Hey Rob, has your e-mail address changed also? Please e-mail me with your new one so we don't lose touch.
