I'm looking for 1/300 scale IL-10s for playing Korean War games, and I can't find any. Will anyone notice if I paint IL-2s like IL-10s?

They were actually pretty similar looking aircraft. I can't see any critical details the eye wouldn't just gloss over at a casual glance, especially in a small scale.

Was there that much difference at that scale? I can't seem to recall any. I'd just go with it and see if anybody calls you out on it.

I'm using IL-10's for my Korean War forces and, as stated, at 1/300 you can't tell the difference.

Same – you can differentiate them easily enough if you're actually looking to (eg. by the more curved forward fuselage of the Il-10), but there's nothing that really screams out, especially as the most conspicuous difference (the size of the underwing bulges to accommodate the retracted undercarriage legs) is largely hidden from casual view on the tabletop.

I suppose if they bother me I can just file off those underwing bulges. :-)

Post Script:

I discovered that there are 1/300 IL-10 models in the MSD Games Luftwaffe 1946 range and I-94 Enterprises Scotia Collectair 1/300 range.

I ordered some MSD Games planes. They are single-piece castings with decent proportions and a reasonable level of detail for this scale, and I'll be happy with them. They also have a lot of flash, some strong mold lines, the metal is somewhat brittle (though not the worst I've had), most are missing at least one cannon barrel, and some of the details are a bit off (the tail fin is a bit too pointy; the exhaust ports down the cowl are exaggerated, the canopy is too long, etc.).
