So I pre-ordered enough of the Stygians and a second faction to put together enough elements to do some DBA-like sci-fi. But what rules to use? There's not enough meat on the bones of DBA or HOTT to satisfy us. So what else? Strike Legion? Two Hour's company level rules? I am open to suggestions! I want some of the simplicity of DBA, but also some character for each unit. Thanks! |

Alien Squad Leader would fit that bill. Available from link |

You might try Alien Squad Leader. It takes some of the DBA concepts and works them into a set of Sci Fi rules. Slightly more complex than DBA. AFAIK there are no other SF rules which are similar to DBA/HotT. There is a HotT variant for SF which might also fit your needs. I cant find it on the web right now. I have a copy somewhere if you would like it I can look around. althegamer@yahoo.com. EDIT: John beat me to the ASL post. |

Might also look at Warfare in the Age of Madness (post-holocaust) |

Thanks! I will look at AlSL. We may go with the Two Hour Wargames Battalion Commander rules. |

Another (belated) vote for Alien Squad Leader. It's a great game. If you want something that is more literally like DBA, a lot of folks use Hordes of the Things for sci fi. This has never been my preference personally, but is a popular option. |

We have decided on Future War Commander to try out first. Can't wait to get my Onslaught Otaki and Stygians and get started! |

Good choice. ASL is also one of my preferences based on a read-through. I've also considered Mighty Armies using 50mm squares(also used by ASL) |

Oops, forgot to mention Prophecy Of War and Iron Cow… |

Future War Commander is tons of fun and flexible enough that you can create forces for pretty much any sci-fi future imagineable. |

Also, look at The Crucible or NetEpic … |
