I bought some Artizan WW2 packs online on Friday with the online shopping basket getting my order alright; and it looked like I completed all of the payment forms properly but I haven't received an email confirmation of the order and that's never happened before when I've bought anything online in the past. Or does North Star do something differently like only confirm the order once the postage has been assessed? I'd find that odd as whether hobby related or not I've always received a 'confirmation email' immediately after making past online purchases but if I can expect an email in a few days giving me the grand total, then I won't worry about where my c.c. information went. I've made a couple of email enquiries but they've gone unanswered so far. And I'm not complaining about the service I just want to ensure that my c.c. information isn't lost in Internet Limbo and that North Star did receive it alright. |

Thanks, JJ. There's no record at my bank of the purchase yet (let alone any fraud) so that's what I'm hoping. |

Nick may have been at the Kelp Show this past weekend which is why he hasn't contacted you yet. EDIT: Well, forget that reason, Kelp isn't until this coming weekend. Goes to show that one should check one's facts before hitting "send." Jim |

I don't think that I received a confirmation for my Pirate Nick Starter until they sent notification of shipping. |

We have this thing called 'The Weekend' between Friday and Monday when some people don't go to work. Strange, I know. An order placed just before 'The Weekend' might not therefore be dealt with until a short time after 'The Weekend'. |

Have you checked your spam box to ensure any email is there or not? Just speculating – I am not sure how NS has their commerce set up but I assume if the order is not adding shipping when placing the order then they must do the charge after the determine the postage. |

I just got my confirmation from the store along with a note about sending the order ASAP so I guess there is a delay in processing payments that is normal with them. That's no problem; I was just concerned the order hadn't gone through along with my c.c. information getting lost in the ether! Thanks for your helpful suggestions, folks. It might not come directly from the retailer but every other thing I've ever bought on the internet, Jemima, has had an automated reply about receiving payment generated automatically by the retailer's banker (or similar) that isn't dependent on office hours. Not receiving that took me by surprise. And every hobby store I've ever known has been open on Saturday as well as me taking into account the 5-hour time difference when I sent my second enquiry late Monday morning (mid-afternoon UK). I even waited until Monday to send a second enquiry because I thought Mr Eyre may have been busy wargaming and/or selling on the weekend and might not check his business email until Monday. No harm done; and I'll be sending them another larger order later this week now that I know they're a good retailer. |

Glad we got back to you today. I'll take a look to make sure your order goes tomorrow. We do close at weekends, we're not a store as such, though I keep an eye on emails when I've a moment, some customers have expressed surprise to be answered at 11.00 PM Saturday Night. So if anyone orders at the weekend, please forgive us if you don't hear from us until Monday. The shopping cart was set up to send an automated response, but I think it's being blocked. Anyway, back to the new series of The Walking Dead!! |

Thank you, Nick. It was only missing the automated response that had me concerned; not thinking anything nefarious was going on or that there was any problem with your store. And I hope you did get some wargaming in this weekend too as well as watching the TWD season premiere. :) I'll be making the second order this week. Thanks again for your attention. |

And as a followup to my original query on this thread, I've received my order in just ten days. Thank you, Nick. TMP link |
