I'm liking what you have done there Trebian spiffy silks indeed just right for Nien bandits or Tai Ping veterans. I think I'll take that approach with mine too. |

"Spiffy silks" is now an official paint style. The problem with the pictures is the glare off the varnish with the flash. I need to find a place with some good natural light to get better pictures. |

Yeah works for me. How far are you away from trying them out on the table? |

I'm months away from having a table-ready army. I'll need at least half a dozen infantry yings, and half that of cavalry, plus guns & jingals. I playtested the rules using Mahdists as Taipings. Well, one bunch of religiously motivated nutters is as good as another. |

A sound principle for gaming and life. I have a small game tonight Miao v Imps. I set the board up last night wooded hills trailing to scub leading to a plain bisected by a river fordable at a single bridge. The Miao are lurking in the hills while my plucky new Chinese commander heads for the bridge with a truely dreadful unit of opium addled manchu foot, some good Tartar cavalry, his own reasonable quaility infantry unit and a bunch of outraged Chinese farmer militia. |

OB: I'm building a wooden Chinese model house. It isn't easy. Expect to see pictures & report of your game somewhere. |

What manufacturer produces the Taiping figures? |

They're from Irregular Miniatures: irregularminiatures.co.uk The website is a bit odd. Select 15mm from the ribbon at the bottom of the page. They're listed under Indian Mutiny. Obviously. |
