I'm about to start work on some German Grenadiers and want to add a pin to the back of the base that would have unit options on it. Example would be a painted panzerfaust glued to a pin.

I was thinking of adding a magnet to the base and then going to the local hardware store and checking out what sort of small nails are available.

Before starting on this I wanted to see if anyone else has done this and how or if others have floated this idea and how you thought it should be done. Pictures? Tutorial?

I've done something like this for halftracks. A very small square rare earth magnet on the back painted to look like a box. About 3 mm by 3mm by 1 mm.

Then I took "paper steel" and fixed it to a sheet of paper I had printed out with codes.

Punch out 1/4" circles with a standard punch and the tags stick to the magnet showing what is in each HT.

I generally always put a square of magnabase on every base, then you can easily make up attach various markers made up from steel paper etc.

Very cool ideas! I have never done that.. not yet at least! I usually do this type of thing for Napoleonics, but never thought to bring it over to FoW!
