Hi all,

Today I fought the last battle in the East in my continuing Hyborian HOTT campaign. It was Vendhya against Turan (Indian against Persian) and it proved that a combination of seizing the high ground and deliberately targeting the weakest elements of the enemy assault can lead to victory despite the presence of Conan the Barbarian on the field. Here are a couple of pictures. You can read an account of the battle over on the blog.

Great stuff. I have been thinking about making Hyborean age DBA armies for a couple of years now.

Very nice, 28mm?

GarrisonMiniatures12 Oct 2014 8:01 a.m. PST

Look like a mix of mostly Garrison and Minfigs 25mm.

KTravlos12 Oct 2014 8:07 a.m. PST

Very nice indeed! Good Show!

Great looking game. I've also been tempted to make Hyborian armies for HotT. Thanks for sharing!

As an aside, I really like the Ring Wraiths you have on your blog banner. What make are they? They remind me of the old Bakshi film, which I still think is how Wraiths (and orcs too) should look.

Hi, cool battle! I agree about wanting to game this too.

Those are Heritage 25mm figs from the movie.

Thanks,

John

Fantastic! It is always nice to see some HotT love in 25mm/28mm!

Is it 25mm? Those Indian archers look like 15mm Minifigs.

Thanks,

John

Made a couple 15mm Hyborian armies for DBA years ago. Should convert to HotT and get going.

Great inspiration.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys. HOTT is excellent for Hyboria. You can just take an historical army that you might already have. Rename it and add a fantasy element of two and you're good to go.

Yes I game in 25mm. I had a long hiatus , but never got rid of my early gaming figures. So now I do 25mm. Having said that I love Old Glory figures that are 25mm ish. Most of my Hyborian are Garrison and Minifigs though.

The Nazgul are indeed Heritage. They can still be bought from this site.

Very very reasonable rates and Michael ships to the UK at a really good rate. Highly recommended.

are Garrison figures still in production or have you had these for awhile.
I used to have a bunch of their conan range

Gone Fishing12 Oct 2014 1:25 p.m. PST

Thank you for the identification help, guys!

GarrisonMiniatures12 Oct 2014 1:43 p.m. PST

Garrison still in production until end of November.

Then I 'retire'.

Kropotkin30312 Oct 2014 1:58 p.m. PST

I shall have to get a commemorative order in then. I've had a lot of Garrison stuff over recent times but there is still more that I want.

Once again thanks for the feedback guys.
