Has anyone gamed this? It looks pretty cool, if really grim. Three NATO brigade plus Berlin's security forces vs. a full Soviet army with an artillery division. Not a great place to,be, but it's an interesting twist on the whole NATO vs WARPAC scenario of yore.

Has anyone tried the old Strategy & Tactics game?

Yeah, pretty sure that would have been a case of "an exciting but short" life.

The Fawcett Conscripts played a game or two on this theme.

I always thought the BOAR operation to rescue the Berlin garrison, was a good one to model. The Pact are travelling West, the Brits going East, plenty of opportunities for realistic meeting engagements!

saw a lot of these at a local con bring and buy, plus a fair few covering ArabIsraeli…iirc the seller wanted $40 USD an issue though, so passed. Anyone know of any sites hosting the info?

A group of friends are doing that setting, but in 86. I was very skeptical about gaming this period, but after taking a closer look and playing a game have become hooked. Using a modified version of the Battlegroup rules, so we get to play with a decent amount of toys each side.

I grabbed an incomplete copy off ebay for a song. I like that last link for a preproduction Berlin game. That is a lovely map. The SPI map is rather "blah", but hey, that way 30 years ago.

I've still got my original copy of the S+T game. I dig it out now and again to have a look at the map.

I played it a lot back in the day. I loved the map and I think plodder's map in the new computer game Flashpoint: Red Storm is amazing.
