Our sci-fi gaming has been stalling because we released we don't like the rules we've been using (Tomorrow's War). The reason for this is that we want sci-fi games to have a space opera feel. I finally decided to write my own rules! Provocatively, I shortened all the weapon ranges – although I know the discussions about this, and I would agree with the likes of Richard Clarke when it comes to historical games, for my sci-fi I want to have a more cinematic approach, with the heroes running around and doing heroic stuff instead of huddling behind a wall. Anyway, the first play test has been successful, if I say so myself. Have a look at link for a detailed report and some images! Looks like we are back to sci-fi, huzzah! |
