I have found that Redoubt Enterprises do standards for:- Royal Spanish Guards Royal Walloon Guards Royal Italian Guards Royal Swiss Guards Can anyone direct me to source(s) other than MAA 321 – Spanish Army of the Napoleonic Wars [1]. Information in there is limited for what I am seeking. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks. |

You did not indicate the size/scale required, but for 25-28mm figures, best go direct to a Spanish supplier, Adolfo Ramos (click on the Stars & Stripes icon for English language): flags.adolforamos.com/?id_lang=1 . |

Thank you for the information. I was aware of the range of flags that Adolfo does. It is the uniform details for the mentioned units I am seeking. |

What information are you after exactly (that the Osprey doesn't have)? There may be something in Bueno that I can look up. |

MAA321 gives uniform details for the Guardias de Infanteria Espanola and Guardias de Infanteria Walonna. Nothing on Italian or Swiss Guards. I have the Cronin /' Summerfield book on Line & Militia units but this gives nothing on Guard units. Any reference I can follow would be appreciated. |

The Royal Italian Guards were a company of the Spanish Life Guards (Reales Guardias de Corps) i.e. part of the Guard cavalry. I'll have a check for more details. |

It really depends on the year you are planning to create. The Spanish government was dissolved and the several armies were dependent on Britain and the local juntas to supply their troops. After a few years uniforms and flags wear out, so only the few individuals inclined to write down or make stretches of the units in their vicinity give the few accounts of what Spanish regiments looked like during a certain campaign. In 1808, you would probably find most units equipped in original issue, but after that it starts getting blurred. I would not argue with your choice. If someone finds a source that matches the year you creating, then you can always change it. Of all the Napoleonic Armies, the Spanish are the most difficult to get good sources on. Good luck with your army. I hope they fight well for you. |

Gents My original question came from the fact that Redoubt Enterprises do 4 No items under PSF1 to PSF4 inclusive covering Royal Spanish Guards; Royal Walloon Guards; Royal Italian Guards and Royal Swiss Guards flags. Format of Spanish and Walloon is, as other sources, for infantry not cavalry flags. I have sent an enquiry to them to try to clarify the issue. Will advise. Stephen Any planned date for publication of volume 2 please. Tom |

For information this is the reply I received back from Redoubt Enterprises on the source of the flags he lists. " I am sorry but I cannot help you on this. We find flags for different regiments and make them." |

Dear Tom You will have to ask Gerard Cronin about when the next volume will be finished. It had been planned for April 2015 to be launched at Salute 2015. Stephen |
