Simple request. Has anyone purchased this, and if so could you let me know what its like. Does it automatically come painted. I am thinking of purchasing it. Pretty impressive at 4 by 3 foot.

Wow, it is impressive indeed! Does it have lift off roofs for the buildings?

Bummer that it is 54mm…could you imagine a 28mm or even a 15mm version of that?

Paragon's Ft. Apache comes to you exactly as shown in the photos on the fort's main link on Paragon's Home page. The stone work is a very nice finished medium brown with shading and the adobe portions of the barracks, etc are also nicely finished (as is the greenery). There are also some small pieces at the rear of the fort tying it all together that are 'finished' with a little more color, but the blockhouses and 'wood' stockade walls are grey, not painted.

I have the Spanish Wells playset with add on plateau painted in 'Adobe red;' you have your choice of 'Adobe red' or 'Desert sand.' It's even in better in person than in the photos on the website. I've also seen the 'Desert sand' version in person at a show and it's terrific, too. I have the large Apache Pass pieces in Adobe red and the small, medium and large shelf rock pieces in Desert sand. They're beautiful and well worth the cost.

Gene and his wife are great people and are pretty prompt at answering questions. I suggest dropping them a line if you have any questions.

Buckeye, yes they would be nice in the scales you suggest, but the 54mm looks stunning and that's the scale I am decided to concentrate on. I've also got 28mm but Paragons and TSSD figures are simply beautiful. They also bring back a lot of fond memories of my childhood. Me being 50 now.

Thanks Ragbones. Sounds from your info to be even more fanastic then just from the pics on Paragons website. Being in UK I might talk with Steve Weston about cost of buying it from him.

Everytime I look at it I just want it more.

They are a very ice looking product. I think the rock formations without the buildings would work nicely for my 28mm games. Going to order some.

Glad they are of use to you Rhingyll. Like you say the rocks can be used with 28mm and smaller.

You should check out TSSD site some of their hills wouls also work nicely with 28.

I've used the rock shelves and Apache Pass pieces with smaller scale figures – 15mm & 25mm – and even used the Spanish Wells add on piece as a plateau in a 15mm Zulu war Hlobane-inspired scenario.

Impressive, thanks for the info!

Glad you liked it Joes. Paragon do some great stuff. The other fort which is also on their site, is more mexico inspired. Their figures are also beautiful. Detail is brilliant. I just love 54mm.
