Has anyone seen or done stats for the Fellowship of the Ring? I've got the GW box set and thought a few games running through the mines of Moria might be fun. The goblins are easy. I thought I might just use dragon stats for the Balrog. I could of course use the basic stats for heroes of the appropriate type for the fellowship, but thought something specific could be cool to. Thanks. |

So you're not using the LoTR rules then? |

I think he's looking for stats for "Song of Blades and Heroes". I've not done stats for them, but I would recommend trying one trial game with the basic book stats and then compare how the figures functioned in game vs how they are presented in the fiction. After the game, go back and tweak them a bit to make them what you want. One thing you will probably want to do is make sure that all the Fellowship are at least Q4, and they might have to all be Q3 in order to get them to in a function properly heroic manner. Let us know what you come up with. I just picked up the original GW metal fellowship set for the purpose of using them in LotR sometime in the future. |

They're on the yahoo group files page, if your not a member of the yahoo group it's well worth it Robert |

Agree. The GW rules are really well done and comprehensive. I suggest giving them a try before cobbling together something else. |

Toshach, I think Toaster was referring to SBH warband lists for LoTR which are indeed on the "Song of Blades and Heroes" yahoo group. link The yahoo group is also great in that the author answers rules questions directly there. I've heard good things about the GW rules, but SBH is a really great flexible and fast ruleset that is very different from GW style rulesets. It all depends on what kind of game you are looking for. GW LoTR is made for it, but SBH is more than capable of doing justice to LoTR gaming. |

I have the LoTR rules from GW and they are okay. Not quite as smooth as it appears SBH is. I have quite a few of the GW models so thought they would work well with this rule set. I did joint the yahoo group at the suggestion of another TMP member. I'm sure I will spend lots of time reading through the various posts and will use that as a resource if/when questions arise. Thanks for the input. |
