Ok so the cgsc Nafziger resource tells me that these regiments comprised part of the XI corps, 32rd Div (7th) and 34th (3rd to 6th)and gives battalion numbers and strengths, but I was unsure about the company make up for each – were they organised along the French 1V, 1G, 4 line co basis? How was the 4th organised which seems to have had a Lt bttn, and how was that btth organised? Where were the 1st & 2nd (I think Frankfurters)at this time? (couldn't find them – Spain perhaps?)

I can feel the pull of the Perry Confereration of the Rhein figs and am likely to surrender to it soon to add to my Poles, and wanted to do them 1:33 (ok so I can't rid myself of that Bruce Qarrie thing) with some rough accuracy. The Perry organisational info is Spain 1809, so things may have changed in 1812-14. Any help from the enormous brains trust out there would be very much appreciated!

If you are interested in the 4th Regiment (Saxon Duchies) during 1812 (and can make it through the Gothic German), there is a regimental history available on Google:

In early 1812, it contained and was located as follows:

Das Herzogliche Sächsische Regiment war die Dislocation in Stralsund:
1) der Regimentsstab, wobei Dr. Haßkarl;
2) das 1. Bataillon, vollständig, nämlich 4 Compagnieen Gotha-Altenburger, 1 Compagnie Meininger unter Capitän von Buttler und 1 Compagnie Coburger unter Capitatn von Alvensleben, mit den Gothaischen Chirurgen Stötzer, Schlemmunddem Coburgischen Chirurgen Friedland;
4) der Stab des leichten Bataillons — Weimar-Hildburghausen – wobei Dr. Mirus mit der neu errichteten Carabinier-Compagnie und Chirurg Ernst;

Wow. Firstly thanks DR X; now realize that should have been my first reference.
And thanks Ralpher. Went to school in Lubeck in 1976 – as they were probably were speaking gothic german back then I might be in with a chance.
Any other tips on napoleonic web resources re these regiments would always be welcome!
