I have searched both Shapeways and Pico Armor and cannot find one. Does such a beast exist? If not is there an easy way to scratch build or convert the turret?

Also looking for Soviet mobile bridge layers and a few other odds and sods.

I fear there is none so far.
AVLBs are available for US and Sweden via Kokoda Trail Models on Shapeways.
Is there anything specific you are looking for?

Cheers,
Benjamin

Sadly, I'm afraid we're stuck waiting for Marcin or one of the several 1/600 producers on Shapeways to come out with a Roland (among a multitude of other things we're all waiting for).

Dave, if you want to drop me an email, I might be able to whip something up for you which you could get printed through Shapeways.

Thanks!

Take javelin up on it. He does outstanding work!!

Thank you, sir!

By the way, Dave, I've already designed an AVLB bridge (both deployed and not) for my sci-fi stuff; if you'd like, I can make it available separately and you can use it to kitbash a bridgelayer from whatever Soviet vehicle you wish to use.

You can see a couple pics of it here:

Seems like a pretty simple Marder conversion, in that scale, to me.

Thanks Javelin98. Those bridges look pretty close to dead on. I only need a. Couple of Roland's right now, so I hesitate to ask you to do one up just for me. I do appreciate the offer.

If Javelin would try to do a Marder based Roland (I would opt for Roland 2) it would be a very good option. Having in mind the work he did designing the CV90 series, he possibly will take the opportunity to design other Marder based vehicles as well – the Argentinian VCTP series comes to mind, as the Germans dropped most of the options they considered… Just a thought.
There should be some customers for the Roland out there.

Cheers,
Benjamin

I'd definitely but some Roland 2, if javelin would design one

Yeah, honestly, once I make the hull, it's pretty easy to make up the various turrets and options to go on it. I'm all about modularization!

I'll take some time this weekend and whip up a Marder hull with a Roland turret and post some pics!

Very, very nice.
I am happy that I saw this vehicles in original while visiting the Flugabwehrschule des Heeres in Rendsburg some years ago. Nowadays all Roland 2 systems (including the MAN truck-based ones) are out of service and even the whole Heeresflugabwehrtruppe has been disbanded.

Kind regards,
Benjamin
