As titled let's imagine ..i have so many plastic Airfix AWI British grenadiers, George Whashington Army and Revell Militia that i would like to paint for my wargame armies…simpy because they were among my favourite sets when i was i child…
the fact is that i prefer FYW instead of AWI which those figures represent..i already ask professional advice of great diorama maker and producer on specific minis Uwe from History in 1:72 site..but i would appreciate the suggestions from other wargamers, maybe with limited budget, like me that accept some compromises at this scale..so..did somebody built up French, British out of Airfix AWI for the line infantry/gunners and, maybe, also local units (Compagnies Franches, Courreur des Bois ecc..) out of Revell American Militia?..any picts/suggestions?

Look at plasticsoldierreview.com for plastic figures in your desired period. There are lots!

My very first Wargames army was Russian SYW, I used Washington's Army figures from Airfix- nice paint job and my opponent was quite happy to play against them with his rather swish Minifig French. I did quite a lot of conversions to get cavalry figures etc. that was over 40 years ago and some of the best games I have ever played, using "Charge" rules.

There is plenty of possibility in 1/72 for this period. See here for example

thanks so much Citizen Kenau..very appreciated picts..i'm really thinking about that..but i still don't see any Airfix minis used for FYW or SYW..i'm the only rough ..childish wargamer for this elegant gourmet type period? :-))
