Those are turning out great. These look way better than the resin ones I've seen in person. Are these the metal miniatures? |
Only Warlock | 08 Oct 2014 1:45 p.m. PST |
These are the resin ones! |

Just to cover the previous conversation, as it seems to be repeating. ;->= … Lion in the Stars 10 Oct 2014 6:34 p.m. PST Those 2500s are nice models, aren't they! … Only Warlock 11 Oct 2014 5:41 a.m. PST They really are. These are the "bad" Mongoose early production ones, too. Admittedly there are lots of flash lines and bubbles, but they came out nice anyway. I have some E5 Escorts, a Romulan Squadron box, a Fed FF and Battle Frigate along with a Fed Heavy BC to go. … TheBeast 11 Oct 2014 5:58 a.m. PST At some point, 'clean up' becomes additional sculpting. And, your painting adds a lot. Take the bow. … Doug |

Tennshington Decals sells custom decals for the Fed ships – you can have a custom ship name, etc. They are a bit pricey, but high quality. tenneshington.com |

You can also get them through. Same thing custom names or officail SFB names. $10.00 USD a sheet. jupiterivdecals.com these are also offically licenced through ADB. |

I just found out in ADB's newsletter that for those who like the sculpts of the 2500 series better but like the smaller size of the 2400 series (or just have existing collections), ADB just got their first printed masters of some 2500 designs in the 2400 scale. |

Really? I just started looking at their range. Should I wait to buy? I am looking at picking up some Klingons. -Eli |

I just started looking at their range. Should I wait to buy? They are currently in the process of mastering the molds for *one* Klingon and *one* Federation ship. I would venture that it may be years before they get the majority of the old 2400 minis duplicated as these new, more detailed 2450 miniatures. So, if you want to start now, I'd go with either the original 2400 or larger 2500 lines. |

I like details but I also do not like the bigger ships. The Starline 2400 also seems to have MORE ships in the range. -Eli |

Remember, the 2400 range has been built up over DECADES (as 2200/2300/2400), and the new 2500 line has only been produced over the last year or two. |

Dumb question. Which ship is that Klingon ship shown on the paper towel. |
Eli Arndt | 29 Oct 2014 2:07 p.m. PST |
NM, looks like that is the Dreadnought. |
mdauben | 30 Oct 2014 8:37 a.m. PST |
The ships on the paper towel are definitely the Klingon C8 dreadnought and Fed Federation-class Dreadnought. |

Nice work: very nice work. For the record, I'm still not a fan of the panel work cast into some of the ships, especially the primary hulls on the feds. It might make them more interesting – and easier to paint – it's just not realistic all. The originals are very smooth indeed. Replacing the older Zocchi plastics and metal miniatures of the same style in the 2400 range with ones in this 'panelled' style is a bad move in my books. John T |
