So I've got Elhiem paras inbound, and last I checked, they're about 24mm tall.

Plastic soldier company sells late war Germans at 1/72 pretty affordably, so I'm torn between buying more metal minis (AB miniatures precisely) or investing in plastic. Which would be the best investment to go against Elhiem paratroopers? I'm not familiar with AB minis so I don't know their relative size to Elhiem metals.

I use all 20mm makes together…

But here is a pic showing the new Elhiem Early War Germans with other makes…

Here is another that shows more of the German range closely mixed with an AB MG Team…

The Germans are the same height as the US Airborne. As I say, I tend to mix a lot of different makes, as evidenced by my Early War Germans, and find that by mixing many, you get a natural look to a force when all have a unifying paintjob and basing.

How about mixing plastic 1/72s with metal minis? I'm looking at either AB minis or Plastic soldier minis currently.

PSC plastics match well with AB or Elhiem, they sit a little inbetween both.

If you want, I can do you a comparison pick of AB, PSC and Elhiem later today as I have all three at home.

You may want to ask here;

The Guild is a forum largely devoted to 20mm WW2 and contains an awful lot of images…

Sure if you can I'd love to see a comparison.
