It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

I just finished up a Breton warband and tomorrow I'll put them on the table against Anglo-Danes. This looks like a faction that'll require some finesse to master the shoot and scoot tactics. In other words, good luck, I'll need it!

All Gripping Beast figures. Shields are LBMS transfers edged/painted in. I painted the warband while listening to Marc Morris' "The Norman Conquest" audiobook, which happens to be a great companion piece to SAGA gaming!

More pics up on my blog here.

Beautiful work.

The Bretons do the "shoot and scoot" thing very well and when you can get that to work they are really deadly. When it doesn't… well you'll see soon enough. There are several scenarios that are a real challenge for the Bretons and require you to get creative, but nothing that is insurmountable. The other challenge is dice management. Since so many of the shooting abilities stack you can easily find yourself doing one "super activation" that uses all your dice and are left with the rest of your army just sitting there. Knowing when you put all the eggs in one basket and when to spread the love is key. They are my favorite faction to play.

They look great. Good luck with them.

Really good looking warband you have there.
I particularly like the helmetless warlord and the way you've got the paint jobs to 'pop'.

Wow…great looking warband!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the comments. Nochules, you are spot on. I used an uberunit of Hearthguard and stacked dice to power their shooting up. I lost to the Anglo-Danes but I think it's just a matter of learning the battle board. It was great to play "In all directions" and see the look on my friend Eric's face.

Here's my uberunit, feeling confident before the game begins.
