Hello all,
I'm planning to start an "Aliens" like army but am undecided on how to base them.I would like to use Gruntz perks like Swarm etc.
Most of the human sized "Aliens" I've seen are based on 20mm (2 euro cents) bases but what about the smaller ones ? Should one base them on larger bases like GW Rippers ( 40mm) & use them as swarms using a die to keep tabs of casualties OR base them singly on 15mm bases (1 euro cent) & use them to literally swamp targets?

Any feedback is appreciated
Thanks
Z

I have mine individually based simply because i use mine in all sorts of different types of themed games but you can also make or even buy small movement trays that allow for up to five – ten miniatures on 15mm, 20mm, 25mm coins or washers to fit on in a skirmish formation.

use the playing area as a guide, for example if they're to be used in a spaceship crawl game, make sure whichever bases you choose will fit into your corridors etc.

I've got some Khurasan nymphs, and you can fit two onto a 20mm base.

Thank you both for your replies.

The individual basing + movement tray idea seem to be the best solution , they would give maximum flexibility.
