It's not fair when you know I've given up on 3D printing to tease me so. Really. Must Pavlovian drool in the corner for a bit… Doug |

Thanks. Im trying to give a bit of a bulkier more aggressive appearance as befits later period mirror universe ships but staying with the regular movie period design aesthetic. None of that "we are designed for exploration first" crap *L* |

Can't agree with the "None of that "we are designed for exploration first" crap" dismissal of the Starfleet design ethos, but these do look very good. The 'radiator' fins on the Graf Spee add a component that doesn't appear on Federation ships, which helps it to stand out a little. I'd make the twin torp launchers bigger, let them shout "I'M ARMED!!" Raeder looks a bit more Federation-ish by comparison. Maybe try it with underslung nacelles? Also, how about building up armoured structures on the sides of the bridge – those IS captains are paranoid types. |

Not so much a dismissal. But i dont think that would be the focus of the Empire. I dont want to change the look too much since MU ships when seen dont look appreciably different. Im just changing a few details to reflect the differing mindset and presence of the Defiant in a much earlier period. Ill see about enlarging the torpedo systems but it might unbalance the look a bit. and i like the idea of the armour on the sides of the bridge. i'll give that a try also. I can do them larger for Attack Wing if anyone would like but 1/7000 seems to be a popular choisce |

slightly revised clearer panel lines. slightly enlarged torpedo tubes and some details to reflect auxiliary bridge shielding. plus a bit of tweaking on the details [URL=http://s1142.photobucket.com/user/einargosric/media/grafspeewsf_zpsfc8cefb9.jpg.html]

I appreciate that MU ships can be tricky to make subtly different, and I really appreciate that you're doing more than merely designing UFP ships and re-badging them. I like the Graf a lot… the bigger launchers give the impression you don't want to stand in front of this ship. The Raeder looks great too! From above, it reminds me somewhat of the Loknar, one of my favourite designs. Hmm… All this makes me consider getting back into writing my Mirror Universe invasion campaign… and buying ships for it… What era is the Tertiarii intended to fit into? |

Thanks. As for the Tertiarii. I wanted to try making it for the movie or slightly pre movie era since that has been somewhat neglected (with the exception of the Bird of Prey but they changed that to Klingon) |

Glad to hear the Romulan design is intended to fit the movie era – in terms of modern manufacturers, it has to be the most neglected period for non-Federation 'Trek miniatures, which is a pity, given that was the setting for the old FASA rpg. and Tactical Simulator. Just a couple of observations on the Tertiarii – Maybe add some more detail to the head/prow section – it seems a little out of place, compared to the style of detail on the main hull and wings. Also – the nacelles don't quite 'gel' with the rest of the design. I see what you're trying to do – expand on the style and shape of those on the TOS romulan BoP – but they look a bit 'added on' rather than a part of the overall design. Maybe give them a faring over their 'noses' that echoes that of the head section? I'd also like to see the nacelles sitting lower – so the tops of the nacelles are flush with the top surfaces of the wings. Just my two Slips of Latinum worth! :D |

Good suggestions. ill experiment a bit the head section actually covered in windows along with the plasma system but i think something else might help it as well |

How about this.DIfferent enough to have a -B designation i think. [URL=http://s1142.photobucket.com/user/einargosric/media/Tertiarii-B_zpsc329fabc.jpg.html]

Moly Holy! That's quite a ship! Not absolutely sure about the lines of 'bumps' on either side of the plasma 'muzzle' – maybe just a continuous, raised line to brace it in place. Still like to see something added to the noses of the nacelles, to tie them in with the forward hull. But, setting those points aside – I am seriously liking this! It's a great design, and there's no doubt that it is 100% Romulan. Are those twin photorp tubes under the 'shoulders' of the wings? And an aft-facing tube under the shuttlebay (?) doors? Lovely! |
