Just painted up my first mini. Surely not historical but a first fumbling attempt. I didn't know what color to use for backpacks or equipment straps, so I used Iraqui sand (vallejo) for the straps and painted the backpack US Olive drab (vallejo). How far off the mark was I? I used German camo beige (vallejo) for the uniform as instructed in one place. This was a Normandy soldier I was painting. |

According to these guides, I used some "right" colors, but others I don't have yet. I'm satisfied enough with my result. I'll still change the colors up in the future. |

Para uniforms seem to be a bit "hard to perfect". |

Hello, After many Soviet Infantry and German too I am now going for US Airborne. With armies mentioned above I used with satisfactions the guide of Artizan Design. While now I am a bit confused, I've been informed about all models I have use the M1942 uniform. I paint over grey primer with Vallejo Color and usually wash with Devlan Mud and if necessary i do a very light highlight (not so good in that). The matter is that all sources suggest different recipes and many of them suggest to mix colors, a practice that I really hate. Any advice? |
