Hi,

I'm starting a project to make some individual figures (for showing the normal Roman weapon and armor types) was well as some full units. This is to illustration for selling Caesar's Gallic wars to Latin students. The figures will later be incorporated into wargame units.

Suggestions for figures?

Corvus Belli, Blue Moon, Old Glory 15s.

I'll second the Blue Moon miniatures. They are "larger" size 15mm with nice character to them.

I think the above figure suggestion are excellent. I did my Roman/Germanic collection before Blue Moon introduced their figures, but I have added some of that figure line to my collection since. Most of my Germanic figures (usable for your purposes) are Old Glory and Essex. I used some the Corvus Belli figures with my Romans. You can see my Germanic (Old Glory and Essex) in pics 17, 18, 19, 20, 23 and 24 of my Pax Romana Gallery at link

I use a mix of Tin Soldier and Xyston.

Testudo does a very nice line of Romans and Gauls. They are on the large side, but the sculpting is excellent.

For illustration perposes I would use Xyston, very nice sculpts

For Caeser's Gallic war illustration I believe (I'm new to this period) that I need the Gaius Marus reform 107BC, where there is a uniform legionare, rather than the Polybia System or the Camillian system, or the earlier Roman armies. ?? Some of the vendors suggested above are exculsively from other eras. (?) What are good models for the Roman artillery of the Gallic wars era?

Won't beat Blue moons if I say do so myself.
