Hi all, I have finally completed my first 2 battalions of Bluemoon french in full dress. miniaturesblog.wordpress.com Hope you like them. I ignored a lot of advice and I've gone with 32 figure units. Cheers Simon |

Great paint job and the basing really shows them off. |

Nice looking figures and bases! If I may make a recommendation -- go back and re-paint the vertical edges of your bases, either in green, brown, black or khaki. If you have a favorite ground cloth or table surface, select a paint color close to it. It helps emphasize the painted figures and the terrained surfaces, much like a picture frame does for an oil painting. |

Wow, thank you all. I was looking to try to get a 25mm look with 18mm figures. I haven't paint in a long time and it's taken me some time to get back into the swing of things. Russ :- if you want to use my pictures then please feel free, just credit me is all I ask. If you want to send me some 1809 Legre or 8lbrs and crew I will quote happily base them and paint them and you can use those pictures as well. Thanks all Simon |

Figures look great. Any of the basing schemes will work; really a matter of the look you prefer. I'd prefer the six bases of 4, if for no other reason that 1 stand nominally = 1 company for the French, which means one base each voltiguers and grenadiers /carabiniers, and 4 center companies per unit. Also makes it easier to make "combined grenadier" units and the like. Not surprisingly, my own 28's are in 18 figutre units, with six stands of three figures each. Finally, you should enable commenting on your blog! Peter |

Nice job Simon, the complete unit is great. Dark tone works well, my favorite is option 1 |

Very nice. I like the "black" shading on white better, but agree it is not 100% for the faces. With Naps, I find there is a lot of white so would tend to go for the black dip. |

They look great. I love the Blue Moon figures. Big units are nice to have, and not too expensive with these figures. |
