For those interested I've starting posting what will hopefully be a weekly series of "7TV" batreps based upon Batman team-ups… or at least Superhero team-ups anyway. These won't be any particular american comic book publisher specific so the first is BATMAN and HOWARD THE DUCK ;D

I also do a daily comic review blog, so if you're interested in Batman's latest DC Comics adventures I review his current issue here:
link

and there's a review of Howard The Duck Issue One here:

Thanks for looking :)

Excellent AAR. "The crossover they said couldn't happen! Or was that 'shouldn't happen'?" grin

And I smiled at your mention of Quak Fu. Good memories!

HtD #1 was a great first issue – or "ish" as they used to say. Howard in his original run under Gerber is still one of my favorite comic characters of all time.

Also in the realm of Batman team-ups, in case this hadn't appeared on your screen yet: Batman & Scooby Doo is now a canon team-up ^,^

@Jpattern2 – Many thanks for your kind words. Glad the game and comic brought back good memories. I plan to do a HD review once a week as I own the whole Gerber run, so I'd be delighted if you stopped by the blog every now and then :-)

@MiniMo – Superb picture and as I have the Scooby Gang models a "7TV" re-enactment of the above might just be round the corner :-)

Thanks for the comments :-)

Will do, BK.

Those initial stories by Gerber, from Adventure Into Fear, Man-Thing, and Giant-Size Man-Thing through the first 27 issues of Howard the Duck, were really ground-breaking. And I think Gene Colan was the perfect artist for Howard, although Bernie Wrightson artwork for Howard's '76 Presidential campaign comes close.

The Scooby Doo Team Up just started this year — it is surpisingly awesome, and with the DC heroes all drawn in the Hanna Barbera syle <3

So, you may want to follow that for lots of uses for your Scooby Gang!

@JPattern2 – Sadly I don't own those very first 'Man-Thing' exploits, just reprints in graphic novels – although the first sketches of Howard are pretty lame imho. I do however plan to get in some postings Ref Destroyer Duck too, originally drawn for Steve Gerber by Jack "King" Kirby when Steve 'went to war' against Marvel Comics over ownership rights to Howard. Sadly neither's best work but interesting stuff nonetheless if you're a Gerber/Howard fan.

@MiniMo – Your posting alone makes me want to see them, and I can just imagine Adam West and Burt Ward doing the voices (as they did in the original Scooby Doo-Batman tie-in animated film). I've already tracked some issues down on Ebay. Many thanks for the heads up on this :-)
