We had a 600 point Battlegroup Barbarossa game tonight between my Reds and my chum Ruardhi using his Hungarians with some of my Germans as Allies.

Was a very tight affair… The Germans took a great early lead, knocking out five T-26 for no loss! But The Red Army meatgrinder moved on and the wave of infantry kept rushing forward to capture objective after objective.

The T-35, as usual, broke down. The OT-26 on its debut incinerated several of the Fuhrers Finest and we even had a Russkie plane turn up (and do nowt!).

The game looked almost over as the Soviets took the final objective on a 'Call of Duty' test but the Germans were able to quickly retake another before the turn ended.

In the end the Soviet numbers were too much and the German force eventually broke its Battle Rating, largely after having to unpin a ton of units after a huge Soviet artillery stonk by a bunch of 203mm guns!

In the end, was a very close Soviet win, despite huge losses, and the Germans who lost less men, just couldnt get hold of and keep those objectives.

Great models and terrain. I recognise a certain model railway factory building, well aged…

Mother, whimper, sigh. Dang that is beautiful work. Inspiring and intimidating all at once. Well done!
Cheers.
