Their website and Facebook page doesn't actually give any details really, just a 'Contact Us' link. |

Please do, Shaun. Be advised, 'small parts' is defined as smaller than 70mm x 40mm x 40mm. |

Yup, you need to post an example of what it would cost to get an example figure or figure set made if you want to get interest up. I'd love to know what it would cost for me to have a set of 5 figures turned into plastic and what a production run would cost. I don't know what country you are in even? Good luck with your new venture! The industry needs a professional outfit that can deliver. |

May I underscore Fergal's points and requests? I, too, could have some custom for you, but must have more information first. Please post here again with news of these clarifications added to your site. The very best to you on this new venture! TVAG |

Thank all of you for this valuable feedback and encouragement. I am based in the U.S.A. near St Louis, MO. I will be posting general pricing information ASAP. One thing I want to stress however (although you have probably gathered this already) is the nature of my pricing. Two things will govern it. Time and materials. Obviously, the more time required to CAD/sculpt, mold, cast, etc. the more it will cost. Likewise with material expenses. So the final price will be very situational. But I give free quotes. I am currently working on a 6 figure set for another customer and I'll be posting examples up later this month. Please continue to take a look at my webpage as I will be posting pricing information very soon. Thanks for your interest, your feedback, and your patience!! |

You might benefit from streamlining the process into several levels of service for a flat fee. It's not going to be easy but would increase sales exponentially. People like easy simple stuff. Define the detail level and size of the part/figure. Add several levels to that and give examples of each. give discounts and up charges for various stuff like already having concepts done or needing concepts for approval. The restrictions on the build volume and detail would cascade down to the manufacturing level. Give kickstarter stage levels as well. So concept with prototype resin cast that has a discount for sets of similar figs. Then a stage for production of small unit runs and several tier stages to show the cost in a nice easy bundle. Your basically working out a formula for your quoting process with the option to quote the odd ones directly. It gets weird and you can always take the form down and evaluate the project to determine if it will need extra processing and switched to a custom quote. Approve the project then require 50% up front with an estimate on time and maybe even an expedite upcharge option. It wouldn't be easy. I'm trying to think of it from a laser cut building design standpoint and seeing a few minor issues but those I'd catch on the first check of the project. It would have to be designed to even everything out because some projects are a pain and others are super simple. It would have a side benefit of chasing away the dreamers who have no clue that plastic injection molded 15mm squad would cost $2 USD-3k in startup alone but you'd also have others who see it and bite where they might walk away before by over inflating the cost in their heads. It's interesting to think about. You'd also probably need a few months or even a year of work before implementing it just so you have all the kinks worked out and a better understanding of the time and material cost needed per project. Now you got me thinking about doing it with laser cut buildings. I'd need more free time and a few employees first to handle the production but could have promise if done right. Sorta aiming to become a resource instead of a direct sale situation. We do design and production but other companies sell them under their name… |
