I'm not sure how to paint the crew of my FJ Marder IIs. I'm using them for a Eastern Front army list if that makes a difference. The models I'm using are from here link

Thanks

No expert on the subject so take my post as a starting point. Crews of StuG, Marder and other assault gun vehicles started out with Artillery Uniforms. They may actually have been Arty. Troops as opposed to Panzer, Infantry, FJ, etc. Mid war this changed to the Panzer style uniform in a gray color, rather than black. Still later it was a mixture of vehicle crew uniform parts and field troop uniform parts. Again, don't take this as gospel. This is just what I have gleaned from various websites while doing research for myself.

I was under the impression that only the army crew had artillery uniforms and FJ were different even if I don't know how.

Assault gun and panzerjager units really aren't the same thing (even if the panzerjagers are equipped with Stugs…).

Last time we talked about this, we concluded that FJ Marder crews in panzerjaeger units wore normal FJ uniforms (including, on occasion, bonesacks etc).

FJ Assault gun crews (in actual FJ Assault gun battalions, of which there really weren't very many) wore the panzer wrap style uniforms..

I don't actually know what the normal uniform without the bonesacks is. Would they wear the Luftwaffe blue uniform?
